/  ABSTRACT

A sophisticated simplicity. An abrupt termination of fluidity. The spark of perfection, a conspicuous execution, all embedded in the works of a charismatic individual - Mikhail Baryshnikov.

The fabrics intertwine to contrive an organic form. Spinning and tapping vibrantly. The pieces flow in harmony, interacting with each other to generate this fluid motion. However, a tragic end follows. There is an abrupt end of movement. Justice was not served to this pure undulating dance.

Upon scrutiny, execution is revealed. A prevalent wire mesh forms the backbone of this undulating form, encapsulated by smoothness of layered synthetics. Intentional twisting emphasises the movement of fabric. Beauty of the form comes from its detail. Attention is placed into controlling the form and with a controlled and define execution, elegance can surface.

This is all in tandem with Baryshnikov’s manifesto - “Simplicity, transparency and making an earnest attempt.” Baryshnikov expresses his intention through the diligence he put into execution. He enforces a confident and firm stance, fortified by his exceptional effort, reflecting on the sophistication of his dance moves.
